Barrecore

Locations: Mayfair, Chelsea, Wandsworth, Chiswick, Wimbledon, Kensington, Hampstead, Leeds, Bristol and Manchester

Price per class: £28

Without doubt, Barrecore is one of the capital’s best options for those who want to sculpt and define their body into that oh-so-desirable ballerina shape. Barrecore offers a range of ballet-inspired beginners, mixed and advanced classes, along with Asana (yoga style Barre), Hiit, Stretch and Sculpt – my favourite Barre class, which uses resistance bands for added intensity. My legs were shaking after the first five minutes, and it really does live up to its name for sculpting results.

Top tip: the Fuel Bar’s protein shakes are the best we’ve tried in London, and highly addictive.

1Rebel

Location: The City – Broadgate and St Mary Axe

Price per class: £20

It’s easy to see why 1Rebel is dubbed ‘King of Gyms’. This well-equipped industrial-style gym has exposed fittings throughout and offers Ride (spinning), Reshape (bootcamp) and Rumble (boxing) classes. My addiction has to be Reshape, a high-intensity class that offers a mixture of treadmill and toning work on the floor. The changing room facilities are definitely the best in London, with all the essentials on offer including big, fluffy white towels, hairdryers, ghd’s, skincare, haircare, huge lockers and an ironing board.
